The U.S. Senate has taken action that could mean a legal battle royal over the stimulus bill.

The Senate rejected an amendment offered by Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) that would have stripped language from the stimulus bill that would force colleges and universities to throw religious clubs off campus if the schools receive federal funds.

As someone who just graduated from a public university, this makes me sad, angry, wondering if this is God’s way of ferreting out the evangelical silliness that’s in most modern college ministry, and of course prayerful that it won’t happen.

As part of an effort to secure the god our nation truly worships (money), a president who calls himself a Christian is prepared to remove any worship of the true God out of America’s universities.

And so begins the persecution of Christians in the United States.
